I think this is a helpful comparison, but I think it breaks down at the level of consumerism. It would be amazing if we were as laser-focused as Apple, but this usually just means that we end up catering to people’s felt needs (or creating needs that don’t actually exist), which is what Apple does.

I appreciate your emphasis on doing the hard work in the church to not simply “cut and paste” program…rather find a way to flesh out God’s plan through our unique calling and vision.
As a daily Kindle user, I have followed the launch of the iPad. With an established base, how will Amazon respond? When the biggest church in town isn’t yours, how do you respond?
