Glad to hear that Matt and The Village Church hold the tension between a healthy work culture and enviornment and sending their best leaders out. Of course, our best hours of the day are at the work place, therefore, it should be a place we look forward to being at, as well as a place we like and trust those we are with.
At the same time, I truly believe one way the large church has hurt the Kingdom is by holding on to its best leaders. We need to send our best leaders out to plant churches and grow the church. I’m happy to hear Villlage Church has a sending mindset. Afterall, the great comission says Go not stay.
Observation: In my personal experience with organized religion, it doesnt seem that pastors come out of seminary prepared to supervise the church staff: secretaries, custodians, music staff etc.
In your opinion is that more or less a correct observation?
