Without filters for decision-making, ministry leadership will drive you insane. Right? There are simply too many needs for the limited capacity of one individual or one church. So how can a pastor or ministry leader effectively discern between the messiness of yessiness.

The five sides of the Vision Frame work as a stack of five filters or sieves that you can pour new ideas or decisions through.

Allow me to illustrate with a decision under consideration this week.

Bob Adams just joined our team as the Vision Room Curator. The Vision Room is a online portal for all things ministry vision. Think of it as the Home Depot for do-it-yourself vision work. We are putting lots of time and energy toward this initiative these days. How did we decide to make the decision? Walk with me through the five filters of decision making and you will find out.

FILTER #1: MISSION (A lot goes thru)

The first filter is always to access the new initiative against the mission. Most people already know intuitively that a mission doesn't work well by itself as a filter. That's why you need five!) Nevertheless you must start there. Our mission at Auxano is navigating leaders through growth challenges with vision clarity. Will the Vision Room accomplish the mission- yes!
